With song titles like "Minas Tirith" & "Time Past, Time Come" as well as the Debussy piece "Syrinx" you know what to expect -- influences like Pentangle, the Incredible String Band, Tolkien, Alan Garner, Mervyn Peake, and the overall zeitgeist of the times. For me, this is utterly irresistible. The CD comes with an informative booklet that details the creation of the album, as well as the future career of each member of the short-lived band. Is it an essential album of the era? Perhaps not... but it's a beautiful one, embodying the spirit of the times... and it's good enough to make we wish there has been more -- highly recommended!
